New Music Friday: Alice Cooper

Alice Cooper has released his 26th studio album titled Paranormal. Teaming once again with producer Bob Ezrin, it's Cooper's first non concept record in 12 years. Ironically, it's also his most cohesive piece in that same time frame. Old school guitar sounds fly, with lyrical nods to his past, and he even brings back a few old friends.

Foreigner Reunite With Lou Gramm

2017 has been another big year for the reunion. Guns 'N Roses have stolen much of the spotlight with round 2 of the Not In This Lifetime tour, and the 30th anniversary of Appetite For Destruction. Since 2003, the Mick Jones led Foreigner have been filling concert halls with someone other than the singer who was the voice of hits like "Juke Box Hero," "I Want To Know What Love Is," and "Hot Blooded." TBT: Bad Company Plays Maine This Week in 1979

By 1979, rock was in a weird place. Southern rock was waning, disco had taken over, and even mega bands like ELO and KISS were disco'ing their sounds for radio. Bad Company were bucking the trend with an upswing in popularity.

Throwback Thursday: 1980 – Jefferson Starship Plays Maine

This week in 1980, Jefferson Starship played the Cumberland County Civic Center. By this time, they were about 110 degrees towards what would be a 180 degree steer from Jefferson Airplane to Starship. I say 110, because even after they reformed the band as Jefferson Starship, some of Airplne's style was retained the first few years. By 1980, both Marty Balin and Grace Slick had left, and Mickey Thomas entered the picture. The band were riding newfound success with a streamlined sound on Freedom at Point Zero.

Tom Petty And Stevie Nicks Duet In London

Did you know Stevie Nicks almost joined The Heartbreakers? After they recorded "Stop Dragging My Heart Around," Nicks said she even would've left Fleetwood Mac if offered. She told Rolling Stone,  "Had Tom Petty called me up one day and said, ‘If you want to leave Fleetwood Mac to be in the Heartbreakers, there's a place for you,' I might well have done it!” They have frequently collaborated over the years, and recently met up again in London on the Heart-breakers 40th Anniversary Tour, which plays Boston on the 20th.
