Throwback Thursday: 1978 – Foreigner Plays Maine
2017 has seen a key lineup of Foreigner reunite, and Lou Gramm was recently seen singing the Star Spangled Banner at Watkins Glen’s NASCAR race. Rewind 39 years ago this week, and the band were in Maine for a sold out show at The Cumberland County Civic Center.
Walter Egan, known for his hit “Magnet and Steel” opening, the crowd welcomed Mick Jones, and the rest of the band as they toured in support of their second album Double Vision. Aside from the title track, “Cold As Ice,” “Feels Like The First Time,” and “Hot Blooded” (Les Nessmen of WKRP stripping to it Hot Blooded is still one of my favorite moments of the show) were also pumped out for the crowd of over 9000.
