After 60 Years, Oakland Fire Deputy Chief Taylor Has Retired
The start of Hardy Taylor's journey with the Oakland fire department starts when he was just 14 years old. When he turned 18 he officially joined the department after years of getting to witness what they do. According to CentralMaine.com he became an assistant chief and eventually Deputy Chief in 2000. While doing this, he also worked at A. O. Taylor and Sons his father’s small engine sales and repair business.
There will be a retirement party for Taylor on Saturday Jan 18 from 1 to 3 p.m in the Williams Elementary School cafeteria and it is open to the public.
