The very rapidly approaching 2020/2021 school year is going to be one of the strangest to date. Our world is ever-changing at the moment, but one thing that doesn't change is the need for school supplies. Whichever way children get educated this year, whether it be virtual, in class, or homeschool instruction, school supplies are still needed.

According to the Greater Augusta Area Back To School Programs Facebook page, they have teamed up with the Augusta Elks for the annual back to school supply giveaway. The event will be Sunday, August 16th run from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the Augusta Civic Center and is for students in the Augusta school district grades K-12.

This year the event will run a little different than in previous years. Instead of walking from table to table gathering each child's supplies, you will be asked to stay in your car. Volunteers will be on-site, directing you to designated areas by grade, where they then will gather supplies for you. As always, all students receiving supplies do need to be on site.
