Do You Remember When NBA Star Dennis Rodman Came To Augusta?
Long before he was North Korean leader Kim Jong Un’s best buddy, Dennis Rodman was an NBA super star playing for the Chicago Bulls. On top of that, he was a huge fan of the 90s alternative rock band Pearl Jam. He was such a big fan that, in the late 90s, he made several appearances on stage with band.
On September 26th, 1996, Pearl Jam brought their No Code Tour to the Augusta Civic Center. When they reached the climax of “Alive”, Rodman made his way on stage and offered Eddie Vedder some red wine. Vedder accepted and hopped on Rodman’s back, riding him around the stage. Rodman was later given a Walkman with Eddie Vedder’s initial carved in it. The cassette player contained a recording of the performance. The Chicago Bulls’ player has said this was one of the most thrilling experiences of his life.
